Crystal Springs Uplands of California junior teammates Benjamin Bouie and Tarik Baker finished second and 10th, respectively, in the Division 5 boys final at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Bouie covered the 5-kilometer layout in 15:04.6 and Baker clocked 15:34.8 to help Crystal Springs Uplands repeat as team champions with a 111-130 victory against Yosemite. The Gryphons became the first Division 5 boys program to secure back-to-back titles since St. Joseph Notre Dame of Alameda in 2012-13 and Crystal Springs Uplands joined Division 1 program Great Oak as the only schools in California prep history to sweep boys and girls crowns in consecutive years.
